Freja Shannon, 22 from Doolin will be talking on the Friday night at this years meet. She started climbing when she move to the alps at 18 and it has been pretty non stop since! ! She's going to share her experiences and adventures (misadventures too!) about everything from scratching her way up routes in the alps, to trad climbing in Ireland and learning the hardships of expedition life in Patagonia. It’s great to have Freja on board and looking forward to having her take centre stage in the shed!
Dutch climber Jorg Verhoeven will be the speaker for the Saturday evening. Jorg is certainly quite the all round climber having won a round of the World Cup, climbed the 9th grade, bouldered Fb 8b+, freed multiple big walls on El Cap and climbed E9!
He is going to give us an insight into where it started, his trad climbing experiences and where he hopes to take his climbing in the future (check out http://www.project-9b.com).
There is likely to be a small charge for the Saturday evening lecture.
